About Everest Tutoring

Everest Tutoring is a Perth small-group tutoring company, trading as BSGBM Pty Ltd (ABN 39 601 405 047), with centres at Harrisdale and Willetton, weekend classes at Perth Modern School, on-campus classes at Harrisdale Senior High School and live classes online. Classes are capped at 10 students, terms run 10 weeks, and the first class is always free with no entry test.

Our story

Started by a student who had just sat the exams

Hari founded Everest Tutoring while studying medicine at UWA after scoring a 99.85 ATAR. He teaches the GATE and medicine-entry programmes, writes the Everest booklets with the tutoring team, and is the person parents name most often in reviews.

That is still how the tutoring team is hired: people who sat the same exams recently, scored between 97.95 and 99.85, and teach the subjects they scored in rather than a timetable of everything. In 2026, 75% of Everest GATE students scored above the 209.5 selective-entry cut-off and 103 received offers.

The centres grew the same way: Harrisdale first, then Willetton, then weekend classes at Perth Modern School for families on that side of the river, and on-campus classes at Harrisdale Senior High School.

How a lesson runs

What a lesson actually looks like

A parent review once said a term class felt like booklets being handed out. This is the structure every class follows, and what we ask you to hold us to.

Teach

The tutor introduces or revises the concept at the board with worked examples, timed to what the school is testing next, or to the ASET component for GATE classes.

Practise

Students work through the booklet while the tutor moves around the room and checks every student's working, so a mistake is caught in the room rather than at home.

Ask

The last part of every class is doubt time and one-to-one guidance. Nobody moves on until everyone has it, and the booklet goes home with answers at the back.

The booklet is the tool, not the lesson. If a class ever feels like a worksheet being handed out, call 0404 604 673 and say so: it is the one complaint we treat as a fault, not feedback.
After a free trial, a tutor calls or messages you to tell you what they saw and what the next term would cover. That call happens whether or not you enrol.
The method

Everest is the tutoring partner of Harrisdale Senior High School (HSHS), delivering on-campus after-school classes since 2025, and runs weekend classes at Perth Modern School. Partnerships.

No founding year is published on this site. The ABN behind the business has been active since 2014 and the Everest Tutoring business name was registered in July 2023, and because those two dates tell different stories we state neither as a founding year.
Who owns Everest Tutoring?
Everest Tutoring trades as BSGBM Pty Ltd, ABN 39 601 405 047. Hari Ravichandran founded it and teaches the GATE and medicine-entry programmes; Ravichandran Gurusamy runs enrolments, timetabling and the Willetton centre.
