Tutoring jobs at Everest Tutoring
Everest Tutoring hires recent graduates and university students with an ATAR of 97 or above to teach small groups capped at 10 at Harrisdale, Willetton, Perth Modern and online. Tutors teach the subjects they scored in, from Everest booklets, and are paid a competitive hourly rate. A current Working With Children Check is required before the first class.

What we look for
- An ATAR of 97 or above, sat recently enough that you remember the exams and the marking.
- Currently studying or recently graduated, usually at a Perth university. Our tutors study medicine, biomedical science, biomedical engineering and software engineering.
- A current Working With Children Check, or a willingness to apply for one before your first class. This is a legal requirement for paid child-related work in Western Australia.
- Two to three hours a week minimum, at the same time each week for a whole 10-week term, so a class keeps one tutor.
- You want to teach a subject, not a timetable: we hire per subject and year level.
What the work actually is
- Teach one or more small-group classes a week, capped at 10 students, from an Everest booklet: teach the concept at the board, then check every student's working while they practise, then run doubt time.
- Mark the weekly work and the topic tests, and write the short progress note that parents see.
- Mark mock exams and write the parent report, for GATE and ATAR classes.
- Answer student questions between classes through the Everest app, within the hours you agree.
- Call a parent after a trial class to tell them what you saw. This is part of the job, not an extra.

Specific openings change each term. Apply with your subjects and availability and the centre team will tell you what is open.

A short interview with a senior tutor, then teach a 15-minute sample lesson on a topic we give you in advance. We are looking at how you explain, not how much you know.
Working With Children Check sighted, identification and a reference checked, then an induction on supervision, pickup, marking and the booklets before your first class.
